How does google make money?

Google generates its revenue primarily through its advertising services. The core source of income for

Google is advertising, notably via its advertising platform called Google Ads. Google's revenue streams

are as follows:

Google Ads:

Google's advertising platform allows businesses and advertisers to create and display ads on Google's search engine, as well as on other Google-owned platforms and partner websites. Advertisers pay Google when users click on their ads (pay-per-click) or when their ads are displayed (impressions). This advertising model, also known as Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising, is the most significant source of revenue for Google.

AdSense:

Google AdSense is a program that enables website owners and content creators to display Google ads on their websites. Google shares a portion of the revenue generated from these ads with the website owners. AdSense is an important component of Google's advertising network.

YouTube:

Google owns YouTube, one of the largest video-sharing platforms on the internet. YouTube generates revenue through ads that play before, during, or after videos. Advertisers pay Google to display ads on YouTube, and Google shares a portion of this revenue with content creators.

Google Cloud:

Google provides cloud computing services and infrastructure through Google Cloud. This includes services like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), which offers businesses computing, storage, and data analytics solutions. Companies pay for these cloud services, and Google generates revenue from these subscriptions.

Google Workspace (formerly G Suite):

Google Workspace offers productivity and collaboration tools such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets to businesses and organizations. Google charges a subscription fee for access to these services.

Play Store:

Google's Play Store is the primary platform for downloading and purchasing Android apps, games, movies, and other digital content. Google takes a percentage of the sales made through the Play Store.

Hardware:

Google manufactures and sells hardware products like Pixel smartphones, Chromebooks, Nest smart home devices, and more. These hardware sales contribute to Google's revenue.

Other Ventures:

Google has invested in various other ventures and projects, including self-driving cars (Waymo), life sciences (Verily), and other innovative technologies. While these projects may not be as significant in terms of revenue compared to the advertising and cloud businesses, they contribute to Google's overall financial ecosystem.

Data and Analytics:

Google collects vast amounts of data on users' online behavior, which it uses to improve its services and to offer highly targeted advertising. This data, while not sold directly, is a valuable asset that indirectly contributes to its advertising revenue.

It's important to note that advertising, particularly Google Ads, remains the primary source of revenue.

The company's ability to serve highly relevant ads to a vast user base and its extensive network of partner

websites and platforms make it a dominant force in the online advertising industry.
